How do I make a donation?
Donations may be made by contacting any of the Fund Advisory Committee

Can I designate how my donation will be used?
You may designate a specific fund for your donations. Funds
designated for a specific purpose will have their own fund
committee overseeing management of those funds. Funds donated to
the Endowment Fund will remain in that fund with the expenditure of
the interest income generated to be managed by the Fund Advisory Committee for
projects within the community focusing on investing in the people of
Nebraska City.
Does the donation have to be cash?
No. In fact, there may be some definite advantages in making donations
in forms other than cash. Donations may be made in the form of a will,
an insurance policy or donation of appreciated assets. Through some of
these means, you may even donate money to the foundation while receiving
income from the funds for the remainder of your life.
Who can I talk to for more information on the kinds of funds
available and how different types of donations might benefit me?
You may contact any of the Fund Advisory Committee members. They will
either answer your questions or refer you to an individual with
expertise in the area.Become a Member
How will the
Foundation be governed?
The foundation will be governed by
a Fund Advisory Committee consisting of nine citizens of the community
to be elected by the foundation membership in elections held at the
annual meetings. The Fund Advisory Committee is
governed by the Articles of Operation of the foundation.
How do I become
a member?
Membership is attained by paying an
annual membership fee. The fee for an individual membership is $100
per year, $150 per family and $100 for non-profit organizations. A
sliding fee schedule applies to businesses, depending upon the number
of employees they have. Memberships are effective until June 30th of
each year (the end of the fiscal year). A lifetime membership is
available. When making a payment electronically, for annual
dues, the deposit should be designated to the General Fund.
What are the
benefits of being a member of the foundation?
The Fund Advisory Committee is
elected by the membership at the annual meeting. Your membership
provides you with an opportunity to help select those responsible for
managing the foundation. You will also receive a periodic
e-update
to keep you informed about what is taking place with regard to the
foundation.
How will the
membership fees be used by the foundation.
The membership
fees will be used to cover the operating expenses of the foundation so that donations
and revenue generated from their investment will be available for
community improvements.
